  Don't want hints, just a clarification:

   

  When removing an operational symbol from between two numbers, do the numbers then count as one number?

  For example: 8+9

  If I removed the + would that read as 89?

  Just need to check, as that would undoubtedly affect the way I go about solving this.

  You should try both ways and see which one gives you a unique solution for each of them.

  Thanks for taking the time to reply. I was so sure that concatenating two numbers between an operational symbol was the only way to get any solutions, now I'm going to go back to wracking my brains. I got what I thought were airtight solutions that way. They were wrong. Now--not so sure. Going to brush up on some number theory and see what else I can think of.

  Maybe some people can write scripts to do this for them. I'm not there yet. Someday!
