I had had a fruitful chat with Sapr0 on the pyramid channel at irc.cyberamy.net.
One of the things we were discussing was the structuring of the challenges, in response to this post I made a few days ago about the types of challenge sites.
In one of his replies, yai2k3 suggested structuring the lower levels according to the scatter type.
Sapr0 and I followed up on that...
Our idea (yai2k3's actually) is that challenges on each lateral level can be done on a non-linear basis, which means you can jump to whichever challenge you wish to attempt on that level. But you can't attempt a challenge that's on the next vertical level. Once you've completed all the challenges on the lateral level, you'll be ranked up to the next rank.
As a result of that new structure, the hofs will be organised differently. Instead of one hof per level, it will likely be one overall hof showing all the solvers according to the number of challenges solved...something like that.
The changes will require some recoding...but I think it will be worth it.
It's a rather attractive idea and I like a lot but I've yet to discuss it with Bio...

Oh and do pop in the IRC channel whenever you can. I met justonp6, shortbreak, and kenshiro there...
